An interdisciplinary team of researchers from Drexel have reported the developmet of a new technology for grid-scale energy storagewhich could provide an innovative method for storing energy on the electrical grid. Their results are reported in a special issue of Advanced Energy Materials.

Jake McDonough, Dr. Volker Presser, Dr Teresa Ubieto, Dr. Junjie Niu, and former RET participant, Mr. Chris Miller, published an article titled "Influence of the structure of carbon onions on their electrochemical performance in supercapacitor electrodes" in the peer-reviewed journal Carbon. This article has been published in the special issue of CARBON-Festschrift dedicated to Peter A. Thrower, Editor-in-Chief, on the occasion of his 30 years of service to the journal. Prof. Gogotsi was one of the editors and all papers published in this issue were invited from current and former editors or members on the editorial board.
