Many Drexel Nanomaterials Institute students and alumni are in attendance at the Fall MRS Meeting in Boston, MA this week. DNI student, Kathleen Maleski also got the Best Poster nomination from her symposium, as did Dr. Babak Anasori for his symposium.
PhD Candidate Katie Van Aken was awarded the highly competitive MRS Best Poster Award. Congratulations to all!

Drexel University students have been very successful in winning the prestigious Boren Fellowship. Our very own PhD student, Amanda Pentecost, is one of them. Only about 10% out of 250 or so combined Boren scholars and fellows are science/technology/engineering majors. Read the full story here.
Prof. Yury Gogotsi presented an invited lecture at the 1st International Conference of Molecular Engineering of Polymers meeting in Shanghai, China.
In preparation to the first ever National Nanotechnology Day, to be celebrated on Nov. 9th, several editors of ACS Nano put together a white paper, which has been featured by the American Chemical Society as the article of the day. Three papers from the DNI are listed as ISI Hot Papers (0.1% of all publications in the field in the past 2 years!). This indicates the highest rate of citations within the academic field and is the highest recognition for publications from ISI.
