Nano
Certificate Program
Drexel University awards certificates
in nanotechnology to graduate students. Upon successful completion
of the requirements, master's or doctoral students will receive
the nanocertificate in addition to their departmental degrees.

DREAM:
Drexel Research Experience in Advanced Materials
This NSF REU Site program brings
10 undergraduates from across the country into Drexel research
labs with faculty and graduate student mentors for 10 weeks over
the summer. DREAM students gain research experience, attend seminars
and laboratory demonstrations, learn how to be effective communicators,
and see some of Philadelphia's historical and cultural attractions.
RET-Nano
This
NSF Research Experiences for Teachers program is jointly run by
Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. Eighteen
high school and community college teachers work in research labs
at Drexel or Penn for five weeks over the summer. Teachers take
what they learned in the lab and share it with their classes in
the fall.
IGERT
This NSF Integrative Graduate Education
and Research Traineeship Program for Ph.D. students is jointly
run by Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. The
program pays tuition and stipend to seven Drexel students and
seven Penn students each year. IGERT trainees participate in an
annual retreat, as well as quarterly professional training seminars.
GAANN
Graduate Assistantships in the Areas of National Need enable fellows to participate in multi-disciplinary research, and prepare fellows to pursue careers in academia. These fellowships also enable greater numbers of women and minority students to pursue doctoral study, and enable fellows to participate in international collaborations.
SEED
The Summer Engineering Experience @ Drexel is a one-week program designed to give high school students a better understanding of the world of engineers. Students work on hands-on laboratory experiments, visit local industries, and compete in a week-long design and building competition.
Summer Mentorship
This two-week summer program allows high school students to experience engineering education at the college level. Housing and meals are provided, and students work closely with a faculty mentor on a cutting-edge research project. This program gives students a competitive edge in the college application process.
